UPDATE: Justin Bieber appeared before a Miami judge at 1p.m. ET today. He was charged $2500 bail. 

Pop star Justin Bieber has been charged with DUI, resisting arrest and driving without a valid driver's license early Thursday morning in Miami, Florida.

The 19-year-old was arrested just after 4 a.m. this morning after he was pulled over by a police officer for drag racing.

After failing a sobriety test, the pop star was taken to a Miami jail.

Bieber , who is currently booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, will appear before a Miami-Dade County judge via a video link today.

Bieber's bond hearing will take place at 1:00 p.m. ET.

According to Miami Beach Police Chief Raymond Martinez, Bieber "made some statements that he had consumed some alcohol, and that he had been smoking marijuana and consumed some prescription medication."

The "Boyfriend" singer was driving his yellow Lamborghini in a drag race against a red Ferrari in the Miami Beach area, speeding up to 60 mph in a residential zone. The red Ferrari as being driven by recording artist Khalil Sharieff.

Rapper Khalil is also set to make an appearance at the court hearing today.

Bieber reportedly did not cooperate with officers when he was pulled over, asking why he was stopped. Bieber reportedly said, "What the f*** did I do? Why did you stop me? I ain't got no f***ing weapons," the arresting officer quoted Bieber as saying. "Why do you have to search me? What the f*** is this about?"
