Juan DeVevo, the guitarist and vocalist for the Christian band Casting Crowns, is asking people what their reactions are everytime someone speaks out against Jesus Christ.

He wrote on the band's Facebook page that there is an ongoing war between science and the church, and people have picked their sides.

"If you're like me, you have two feelings swirling at once whenever you read an article or hear an interview or a jab on a TV show that is meant to be an irreverent or exposing remark to decimate the foundation of belief for all those who follow Christ," he said.

The first thing DeVevo feels is anger and the second emotion is despair. He said that he feels the world is closing in on people and Christians need to find a good position of defense, otherwise they will be trumped by humanist thinking.

"My anger comes from my team spirit, not a real righteous indignation trying to defend Truth. My despair comes from a lack of faith. If I trusted God, I wouldn't be so much like those disciples on this day, running for my life and thinking it's all over for us Jesus-Followers," explained DeVevo.

He added that people's reactions about the death and resurrection of Jesus actually reveal a lot about their faith. What are Christians afraid of, asked DeVevo. Are Christians afraid of looking like fools?

DeVevo added that Christians have the advantage of time because they know that His resurrection is certain. "We know that Sunday comes. We know Death has been undone and there is no room for shadow in a house full of light," he said.

According to the musician, Christians should not forget how Jesus bore the sins of the world and rose up from the dead everytime life looks bleak or someone maligns Jesus.

"We should all remember that not only is Sunday coming, but that Jesus was still God on every other day of that gloomy weekend," he urged.
