Just weeks after the Duggar family show "19 Kids and Counting" was cancelled by The Learning Center network, Josiah Duggar and Marjorie Jackson decided to end their courtship, which started on April 6 this year.

"Many of you have asked us about Josiah and Marjorie," Josiah's parents Jim Bob and Michelle wrote on their Facebook page. "A few weeks ago Marjorie and Josiah agreed to end their courtship, keeping in step with what they believe the Lord's will is. Both are thankful for the time getting to know each other, and their families continue to enjoy each other's company and close friendship."

The Christian couple added that both Josiah and Marjorie have enjoyed getting to know each other and building their friendship over the past couple of months, and they could not be more grateful that they are seeking the Lord's will for their future.

"As parents we are very pleased to see two young people searching out their futures with God's will as their first priority!" they said.

The Duggar and Jackson families were so thrilled when the two youngsters entered into a courtship phase, with Jim Bob and Michelle heaping praises on Marjorie for being such an accomplished girl, having authored her own book and even speaking several languages.

For Josiah, his attraction towards Marjorie can be stemmed from her deep-rooted Christian faith and love for her siblings, which he can relate to since he has 18 siblings of his own.

"I met Marjorie a few years ago, when I was taking Spanish lessons at her house and I was very impressed with the way she was with her siblings and her love for the Lord," Josiah earlier told PEOPLE.

On the other hand, Marjorie was attracted to Josiah from the get-go. "I met him at Spanish class a few years back," she shared. "For me it was an immediate thing. I have always admired him and his family."
