Josh Duggar may be have been missing church services – a mandatory element of his treatment at a Christian rehab facility, reports suggest.

Duggar, 27, is believed to be a patient at the Reformers Unanimous facility in Rockford, Illinois. His mother, Michelle, announced in an August 26 blog that Josh had "checked himself into a long-term treatment centre" after it emerged that he had cheated on his wife using the Ashley Madison adultery website.

The admission followed revelations in May that Josh had abused young children, including his own sisters, as a teenager. He subsequently resigned from his position at the Family Research Council and the Duggar family's TLC show, 19 Kids and Counting, was pulled.

The family's private plane flew into Rockford last week and parents Jim Bob and Michelle have publicly endorsed Reformers Unanimous, according to ET Online.

However, worshippers at North Love Baptist, a church affiliated with the treatment centre, say they haven't seen Duggar attending meetings with other members of the facility.

"Josh definitely wasn't there," one church member told Radar Online following Sunday's services. "It was very strange."

The Reformers Unanimous website describes the facility as a "non-profit faith based addictions program helping people find freedom from addiction" and states that all students attend the church.

"God designed the local church to be a support group for hurting people, whether they are in need of salvation, recovery, restoration, or growing in the Christian faith...We believe that continued Church attendance is a key catalyst to continuing victory," the website says.
