Joni and Friends release Beyond Suffering Spanish and Braille editions

Joni Eareckson Tada and Steve Bundy have just released their Beyond Suffering course in Spanish and Braille.

The course was created to transform the way Christians view God's plan for disability and suffering.

"Joni and Friends International Disability Center strives to anticipate the needs of the disability community and provide user-friendly resources for those looking to equip churches for disability ministry," explained Bundy, vice president of the Christian Institute on Disability at Joni and Friends.

"To reach our Spanish-speaking audience, the complete Study Guide and the Leader's Guide have been fully translated, with Spanish subtitles now included for each of the video case studies from the award-winning Joni and Friends Television Series."

There are 16 lessons in the Beyond Suffering course spread over four modules - An Overview of Disability Ministry, The Theology of Suffering and Disability, The Church and Disability Ministry, and An Introduction to Bioethics.

Participants are encouraged to reflect on their own personal journeys through suffering as they come to understand how human brokenness reveals humanity's need for redeeming grace, and the way the disability community challenges our understanding of the human condition.

"Students who embrace this study will gain a sense of confidence in knowing that they are part of a movement that God is orchestrating to fulfil his command in Luke 14:21; 'Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame,'" Bundy said.
