Jill Duggar Dillard from the new TLC series "Jill and Jessa: Counting On" is currently in hot water for a disastrous midwifery incident that took place two years ago.

Dillard, who was an apprentice of midwife Vanessa Giron at the time, was assisting with the childbirth of a woman named Tiffany Nance, according to Yahoo! Beauty.

Nance blames Giron for her daughter Jozzie's cerebral palsy. Apparently, Giron refused to call 911 for medical help despite Nance's pleas, insisting that she and Dillard would be the ones to deliver her baby.

She blames Dillard for not putting her at ease and making the phone call herself. Nance believes that Dillard would not make a qualified midwife, saying she would not advice pregnant mothers to seek her service.

Both Dillard and Giron hold certified professional midwife (CPM) licences in Arkansas. Their title should not be mistaken for that of a certified nursing midwife (CNM), which requires even more rigorous training and education. Giron's title was revoked by the state of Arkansas after she was found negligent in Jozzie's birth, while Dillard is now more focused on her new family ministry in Central America.

When Dillard obtained her CPM licence, she received encouraging words from her husband Derick. He wrote on their blog that his wife's talent can be maximised in the mission field, and that they will definitely use it in "furthering God's Kingdom."

"I am so proud of her for her diligence, perseverance, and hard work to see this long road through to its end and reaching her goal of becoming a CPM," Derick writes. "The light at the end of the tunnel was always there, but we just hadn't seen it until recently. And if anybody knows how much hard work it has been for her, it's me. Jill has been very disciplined and sacrificed a lot to get to this point. So much so, that I don't have the capacity within this brief blog post to give all the details to do it justice."
