Jill Dillard is remaining active as she awaits the arrival of her son, nicknamed Baby Dilly.

The mum-to-be spent time volunteering at a local thrift store last weekend at over 40 weeks pregnant.

"Volunteering at the Compassion Center this morning in Springdale, AR," she wrote on Instagram. "@compassionnwa #compassioncenter http://crosschurch.com/compassion/."

The Compassion Center is operated by Cross Church, and operates as a life skills and employment resource for the community. Dillard was joined by her husband, Derick, during her volunteer session.

Jill, 23, was due on March 24, but prepared herself mentally and emotionally for a later-term delivery. "I have told myself, 'First-time mums often go a week and a half over, so don't get discouraged,'" she told PEOPLE earlier this month.

"When everyone else is asking you, 'When are you going to have that baby?' The baby will come when the baby comes."

Jill gave herself a secondary due date of April 5.

"[I'm] planning on the baby coming late, no big deal," she continued. "If you have it in your head that way, you won't get discouraged."

The midwife-in-training made the controversial decision to travel to Texas from Arkansas just before her due date, but assured her fans that the trip was well-planned in case she went into labour.

"We contacted midwives in Texas while we were there just to be safe," she explained. "There is a lot of support there, and we felt secure being there."

Although the couple returned home without a baby in tow, Derick has readied himself with a "New Dad" shirt and mug to boot. The Dillards also celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary on Sunday.

"One year ago today, she said yes!" Derick captioned an Instagram photo. "Happy engagement anniversary to my beautiful bride @jillmdillard I love you Jill Michelle! #newlyweds."
