"19 Kids and Counting" stars Jill and Derick Dillard caused an uproar on social media after sharing a photo of their Valentine's Day celebration.

Dillard uploaded a photo of what appeared to some to be champagne, along with candy, a candle, a Bible, and other items on a bed.

The "champagne" was problematic for some people, as Jill is eight months pregnant.

"Very inappropriate," one person commented, according to Yahoo Parenting

"You shouldn't post pictures of you drinking alcohol pregnant," another wrote.

"It's dangerous for you and the baby," a third person informed.

Others pointed out that the Duggar family does not drink alcohol, and the bottle was actually sparkling apple cider.

Despite the clarification from several Instagram users, hundreds of comments continued, as people debated whether Christians should drink alcohol.

"Drinking isnt against god. Being drunk is.. get OFF there [sic] back," one person posted.

"The bible I read says that Jesus broke bread with his 12 deciples [sic] as a representation of his body and they all shared wine from the same cup as a representation of his blood," another woman asserted.

"Wine back then was likely just fermented grapes without the long process we have now days but still."

Others lamented that the Dillards' Valentine's Day photo led to name-calling and other negativity on their social media page.

"@jillmdillard @derickdillard @duggarfam It's insane how crazy people get by jumping to assumptions," one fan wrote.

"It's so sad these people are constantly being attacked when all they are doing is living and let live... A perfect example of what you criticizers should be doing. Jill & Derick, I respect you both so much!"

Neither the Dillards nor the Duggars have responded to the controversy.
