Jeremy Lin is, of course, upbeat about playing for the Charlotte Hornets but it seems the arena security failed to get the memo or read the newspapers even.

Although he was signed months ago, it seems that Lin had to do some convincing for the security over at the Hornets team arena just so he could attend practice. From the looks of it, it was Lin's first time to go to the Time Warner Cable Arena.

Had the instance been on a player, an unknown or perhaps a rookie, the misunderstanding could have been understandable. But then again, not all folks are NBA fans despite the fact that Lin is somehow a high-profile player who took the NBA by storm when he was still donning the New York Knicks uniform way back in 2012.

Lin is looking to rebound from a sorry season with the Los Angeles Lakers, a place where he didn't exactly quite fit in nicely. He failed to adapt to the philosophy of head coach Byron Scott and had his disagreements with Kobe Bryant during his tenure.

Despite many believing that Lin would find it hard to get signed up by other teams due to his large salary figures, Lin was surprisingly on the radar of several teams during NBA free agency. That list includes the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, New York Knicks, and the Indiana Pacers, among others.

Regardless of the interest, Lin opted to join the Hornets as he tries to get in sync with Kemba Walker to hone up the backcourt of the Hornets.

Lin signed up with the Hornets back in July, agreeing to a two-year $4.3 million pact. His arrival provides more scoring options for head coach Steve Clifford as the Hornets try to make a good account of themselves for the coming NBA season.
