There is no doubt that contemporary Christian singer Jeremy Camp has experienced a thriving musical career compared to most musicians out there, and Camp knows that he would not have been able to enjoy his current success without the help of Jesus Christ.

And instead of basking in the success of his career, Camp wants to do something far more important, and that is to give thanks to God.

"I want to remember to be like the one leper who was healed and stopped to say THANK YOU, instead of carrying on with my busy day and forgetting what Jesus has done for me," he wrote on his Facebook page.

Camp was referring to the story in the Bible of the leper Jesus healed in Luke 17:14-16. Jesus miraculously healed 10 lepers that day, and He told them to "go and show yourselves to the priests" after they were healed.

Nine of the lepers proceeded to do just that, but one of them was so overwhelmed with gratitude that he turned back and glorified God in a loud voice. Verse 16 says that "he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him."

Camp has signified his intent to serve God throughout his life. When he was asked earlier what his favourite Bible verse was, he answered that it was Acts 20:24.

"It really just describes my desire for life. It's what God has instilled in me," he said in a video interview with SiriusXM The Message.

His favourite verse reads: "But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my race with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God."

Camp explained that the verse has taught him to serve God with joy and do what God has called on him to do no matter what happens in his life.
