Jennifer Garner, the star of "13 Going On 30," is undergoing some personal difficulties in life, what with her recent high-profile divorce from husband Ben Affleck and the nanny scandal that rocked their marriage. But the actress has chosen to look past her own issues and brighten up someone else's day instead.

While taking a break from filming her new movie "Miracles from Heaven" in Atlanta, Garner and her co-star Kylie Rogers visited the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite and met with nine-year-old patient Henry Shepherd, who has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

She spent time with Henry for around 10 minutes as he was getting his second-to-the-last chemotherapy treatment. His mother, Carrie Shepherd, cannot help but gush how wonderful Garner was to her son. She told ET that the actress was "very down to earth, very kind, has a big heart and very genuine."

"We didn't know we were going to meet her; it was a complete surprise," she added. "She, like me, is a mother of three. It was an honour to meet her. She's a big celebrity but more than that, just a nice, kind and warm person."

The young boy was also "surprised" when Garner visited him, adding that "she was very nice." The surprise visit really lifted the spirits of Henry, who later said that he "was excited about his last chemo treatment."

Garner's new movie is based from the novel "Three Miracles from Heaven" written by Christy Beam. It is about a young girl who is suffering from a rare digestive disorder who suddenly finds herself completely cured after surviving a serious accident.
