For a while now, "19 Kids and Counting" has been focused on Jill and Jessa Duggar's love lives. The show has highlighted their courtships and engagements. But fans following the show have always wondered, what about Jana? Is anyone courting her? Why isn't she married? The answer was revealed in the last episode of "19 Kids and Counting."

Jana is the eldest of the Duggar children. She's diligent, very responsible and patient. At the same time, she isn't always in the limelight. But in the last episode, a glimpse of what Jana goes through in the Duggar household caught the attention of many people.

During Jill's wedding, while everyone was having fun, Jana was doing work in the background. Her face appeared exhausted and tired. Apparently, Jana has been caring for her siblings since she was young herself.

Many viewers of the show negatively reacted to what they saw. They criticized Jim Bob and Michelle for passing their responsibility to care for the kids on their eldest daughter.

A source for Radar Online spilled some details on the matter.

"It's absolutely ridiculous how much the family makes Jana and the older siblings do. Jim Bob and Michelle have totally transitioned a lot of their parental responsibilities onto her," the source said.  "Ever since she was young, she's had to watch over the house while Jim Bob and Michelle would go out for date night alone."

Jana allegedly had to watch over the kids and cook for them, too.

However, the 24-year old reality TV star isn't one to tell tales that could put her family in a bad light.  She's been good that way.  Further, in the book "Growing Up Duggar," she shared a childhood story that involves her sister Jessa, and it shows just how giving Jana had always been as a sister.

According to the story, Jana and Jessa didn't get along when they were kids. Michelle had to make them share a bunk bed so they'd get along better. Jessa took the bottom bunk and entertained herself by kicking the upper bunk which caused Jana discomfort.

Jana never fought back. Mom's advice to her was to return meanness with kindess and so she did. Jana gave Jessa a jewelry box, one of her prized possessions then.

"It was hard to think of giving away one of my most treasured possessions. especially to someone I wasn't happy with. But I tucked a few other childish but special-to-me things inside my jewelry box and I wrapped it up for her along with some candy. A little later, I told Jessa I had something to give her. I told her I loved her and handed her my gift," Jana narrated.
