Despite being outshined by other Apple products that were released recently in the market, some consumers are still looking forward to finding a new edition of the iPod touch in stores in the near future.

The news about the release of an alleged iPod touch 6G has been going around since 2014, but nothing came out from the Cupertino-based tech firm. But recently, new rumors claim that the device is set to be released sometime soon. Although the news about its release is still unconfirmed, several websites claim that the sixth-generation of Apple Inc's portable multimedia player with touchscreen will have improved specs compared to its predecessor, the iPod touch 5G.

According to Master Herald, the iPod touch 6G will come out in two different sizes, just like its smartphone cousins, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. If the reports are accurate, buyers should expect to see a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch variants of the device.

Also, those who are waiting for the next-generation of the portable handheld music player should expect to see more color variants. Aside from the original six hues that its predecessor offered, like red, blue, pink, silver, yellow, and space grey, Apple is also said come out with a white and gold edition of the device.

Meanwhile, KPopStarz suggested that the next generation of the iPod touch will have the same features as the iPhone 6 series. It means that it might be released with the latest Apple A8 processor as well as a 1 GB RAM for a better and faster multimedia mobile experience.

Master Herald also claimed that a 16 GB iPod touch might have a price tag of $250, while its bigger 64 GB variant could cost around $300. Also, a 128 GB device is also expected to come out, but the price for this model is still unavailable at the moment.

These rumors are still unconfirmed, which is why consumers should take this news lightly.
