iPhone owners may start using their handsets to pay for their bills in the near future as the upcoming iPhone 6 is reported to pack near field communication (NFC) feature.

There were rumors and reports claiming that iPhone 6 features will include mobile payments and recent reports tipped that Apple is currently in talks with Visa and other credit card companies for a possible partnership in order to push through a more effective and flawless mobile payment system in the smartphone.

The report continued that the mobile system will allow users to pay for physical goods, apps and retail stores. This feature will turn your iPhone 6 into a credit card. Users can enable their iPhone to act as a direct line of payment for credit card companies. Moreover, this feature will allow for both retailers and their customers to save money by skipping fees normally paid to third-party payment processors.

It is inevitable that this will raise security issues to Apple. However, Apple has reportedly told its partners that it will have a security feature, which is a piece of hardware where sensitive and confidential financial information will be stored. It is still unknown whether this piece of hardware will be the same as what is being used in other mobile payments platform like Google Wallet.

Meanwhile, Apple's new iPhone 6 is speculated to be released in September 19. Based on Apple's previous releases, it is most likely that its flagship phone will be released on the said date. In a recent leak in Amazon Japan, the post stated that the smartphone will be available for purchase on September 30.

There were talks that the 5.5 inch variant of iPhone 6 will be Apple's entry in the phablet category and will be available a few months after the release of the 4.7 inch model. The smaller version of iPhone 6 is rumored to be released in its usual launch window in September and the 5.5 inch phablet is rumored to be launched in October.
