It has been rumored that Apple is working on a bigger version of its iconic tablet and, together with the company's upcoming iOS 9 operating system, the new iPad Pro will have new features for multi-tasking. 

According to Apple observer site 9to5Mac, the new iPad Pro will have split screen modes and multi-user login features. These new features will debut together with the new iPad Pro at the Worldwide Developers Conference, an annual Apple event, to be held in June this year. 

Apple reportedly thought of incorporating the multi-user login feature and split screen apps in the iPad Air last year, together with the debut of iOS 8. However, the new features were deemed not ready and were pushed to a later release on the platform's 8.1 update. The move did not materialize though, as the company shifted focus and just went on to fully develop the then-upcoming iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. 

Fast forward to the 2015 WWDC, Apple is rumored to have already finished development of the two new features that would give the new iPad Pro true multi-tasking options. According to reports, the company already has two versions ready to be displayed in June. It is said that the two variants, "J98" and "J99," are already being tested. 

Observers also note that Apple might opt to detail first the new multi-tasking features of its platform, and then debut the new, bigger iPad Pro at a later date. 

Since last year, Apple has been looking to balance a new direction, wanting to expand its customer base without sacrificing too much brand identity. It released its new and improved smartphones in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and even delved into the wearables market with the Apple Watch. Hoping to expand primarily into the business sector, Apple, presumably, hopes that the multi-tasking features of its new tablets will entice users away from the much-more popular Windows-run devices.
