While Apple has yet to provide confirmed details on its upcoming products, speculations suggest that the Cupertino-based tech giant is already keen on the idea of an iPad Pro follow-up. Supposed leaks of the iPad Pro 2 have already started making their rounds online.

According to Apple Insider, the iPad Pro 2 may already be in line to be released soon, as the new slate is supposedly already in production. Leaked images sent to the industry follower showcase a working iPad Pro 2, allegedly sent by someone from a third-party Chinese supplier. In addition, it is said that though the images only show prototypes, the iPad Pro 2 will go into a full-swing production by late September.

Should this be proven true, then the iPad Pro 2 may debut in the early months of 2017, more than a year after Apple revealed the original, 12.9-inch iPad Pro slate. Though the current-gen iPad Pro has been unveiled in October last year, a late 2016 release for its follow-up is highly unlikely. Earlier this year, Apple has already announced and released a 2016 edition of the iPad Pro, a smaller, scaled-down version of the slate.

Meanwhile, though supposed images of the iPad Pro 2 have been making their rounds online, Apple has yet to come out with confirmed specs for the follow-up. It is expected that the new iPad Pro 2 will debut with new hardware specs, such as a step-up A10X chipset, as well as coming out with at least 4GB of RAM. It is also said that the new slate will be one of the first products to carry iOS 10. In addition, since the current iPad Pro is a full lineup, the iPad Pro 2 is also expected to come out with both 12.9- and 9.7-inch versions in the early months next year, possibly as early as February.
