Despite the recent success of the iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak, no jailbreak for iOS 9.0.2 has been released. However, according to a report from NeuroGadget, jailbreak team PanGu is currently working in collaboration with a jailbreaker known as K33n with a promise to release the jailbreak code out by the end of the month.

According to the report, the team has been able to hide the Cydia app inside other apps. Once the app has been properly downloaded and installed on the iPhone, the device needs to be turned off. When the iPhone restarts, Cydia will be automatically installed on the device, successfully jailbreaking the device.

This method will only work once s device that has been upgraded to iOS 9.0.2. It is also important to note that downgrading to iOS 8.4.1 is no longer supported and therefore phone users must choose which iOS version they want to jailbreak before updating to iOS 9.

The report cites that the biggest challenge in jailbreaking iOS 9 is the new Kernel Patch Protection system, which causes the phone's system to "panic" once it realizes that the kernel files are being manipulated for jailbreaking. It is this encryption that has slowed down both TaiG and PanGu teams in jailbreaking iOS 9.

Until the jailbreak releases by the end of October, users who have not yet upgraded to iOS 9 may still enjoy the jailbreak for iOS 8.4.1. Jailbreaking iOS 9 is not impossible, however. As previously reported, YouTube user iH8sn0w successfully jailbroke iOS 9, although there are no intentions to release his jailbreak method at the time being.

Apple has also begun releasing the final beta version for iOS 9.1, which is speculated to be very similar to iOS 9.0.2. If this proves true then the jailbreaking method for iOS 9.0.2 may still work on iOS 9.1, unless Apple introduces a new Kernel Patch Protection system that can by-pass the method currently being tested by the PanGu and TaiG teams.
