Apple device users are still anticipating the release of iOS 8 jailbreak from the popular jailbreak developer Evad3rs, yet the accessibility of the former jailbreak-only features and several loopholes in the earlier versions of iOS 8 are enough to keep them satisfied at the moment.

The Hacker News recently revealed that a security loop in the new Apple iOS could allow users to download and play popular SNES games like "Super Mario" and "Pokemon" in their devices without having to download any jailbreak software.

Because the tech giant does not allow any emulators to be offered in the App Store due to copyright issues, third-party emulators as well as other unlicensed apps are hard to install.  However, the new soon-to-be-released iOS 8.1 beta version led to the discovery of the viral "Date Trick" loophole, which allows iOS emulator markers to get past all the strict restrictions set by the App Store.

This can be easily achieved by altering the date and time of the device, and set it at least two months back. Once done, Apple users can easily bypass the ban on unsigned apps and use emulators without having to jailbreak.

Aside from the SNES games, the Date Trick can also allow previously unregistered apps like "Popcorn Time" to run on Apple devices.

Air Herald offered a detailed instruction to be able to properly roll out the Date Trick. It says, "You need to set your device's date back to September 20, 2014, and then turn off WiFi, while leaving your data on. Install the app from one of the third party links and it should run smoothly."

Still, this trick will not last if the user will decide to upgrade to iOS 8.1, due to be released sometime in December.

If Apple users would want to continue playing Nintendo games or watching movies using Popcorn Time, then they should avoid upgrading to iOS 8.1.
