Interview: Jonny Lang - Turn Around

It really reminds me of the story of [Apostle] Paul.
Yeah, that's so funny...afterwards, I just thought, people are just not going to believe me, I initially thought, "This is most insane thing, they're going to think I'm crazy." But then I read about what happened to Paul, and I thought, "OK, maybe some people won't think I'm crazy." And I'm so grateful that when I had totally just hated Him, He loved me, and it's something I'll never forget.
Are you attending a church now?
Yeah, absolutely. I have an awesome church home and an awesome Pastor down in L.A., and I couldn't be happier. I just feel so blessed - I spent a while looking for a place, my wife and I, and I just really feel, again, He's done so much for me, and giving us a great church to go to, it's been amazing.
Do you perform at the church at all?
I sing with the singers from time to time, and I love to do that. It's probably one of my favourite things.
You've been on tour with some of the biggest names in rock music, and now you're on tour promoting Turn Around. Can you tell us about the difference between those two experiences?

HA! I am smiling out loud! I saw Jonny on Jan 17th in Hollywood, Forida. I was used to the J.L. music from Lie to Me, and Wander This World, so when he played "Thankful", I thought...wait a minute (!!), this sorta smells Christian! Had no idea is was real. But in retrospect, I think you could tell by looking at him and listening to his comments that he was happy, or Christian, or a happy Christian. Can't wait for his European Tour to start! But I'd fly back just for another show.

I am an elder of the Church of God that I attend and I enjoyed your music always.You have always had the soul in your music and God is now using you to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.I am old but you are young,give all you have and I thank God for you.You are touching the young and old.My son who is 27 has a lot of your music.He plays drums for a blues rock band,I pray that you will change the kind of music He plays.I love the "Only A Man" song.I cry every time I play it.I love that you mention Jesus.God Bless everything you do
