Nintendo

Developed by Nintendo and Tecmo Koei, the hack and slash action video game Hyrule Warriors has now been slotted for an official release date on September 26 for the Wii U. The game incorporates the Legend of Zelda universe and the Dynasty Warrior games.

Tecmo Koei gained considerable fame for its Dynasty Warrior franchise, a similar series of games that is set in medieval China. Koei also created the Samurai Warriors lineup which takes place in Japan.

While a hack-and-slash platform is extensively used for the Hyrule Warrios, the characters and settings are founded on the Zelda universe. The game ha sbeen set in a different time and highlights the period when Hyrule forces battled against evil enemies.

Widely known characters from Legend of Zelda are featured in the lineup of characters, including the sword-and-shield fighting hero Link, Princess Zelda, Impa, Sheik and Goron chief Darunia. A new character, Ganondorf, has also been added to the roster. Every character in Hyrule Warriors is expected to demonstrate their own distinct styles for combat which they may have acquired in previous Zelda games.

Locations such as Skyward Sword's Skyloft, Ocarina of Time's Lake Hylia, and Twilight Princess' The Twilight Field have been inspired by the Zelda game franchise and will be used as the stages of battle in Hyrule Warriors.

Following the footsteps of the Dynasty Warrior, the Hyrule Warriors will allow players to look for items in the battlefield that will be of good assistance, including the Heart Containers or Pieces of Hearts that helps improve health. Weapons that should be exclusively played by a particular character are also expected to be made available to strengthen their attacks.

At a recent live event by Nintendo Treehouse, it was made known that Hyrule Warriors can be expected to bring a new Challenge Mode in a Day 1 patch to keep the adventures coming. Gameplay will be putting forward numerous levels with which players should be able to accomplish as many levels as they can.

Hyrule Warriors will be made available in North America on September 26. It will also have an official release date of September 19 in Europe and September 20 in Australia. The game has already been launched in Japan last August 14.
