The rumor mill has been flooded with word about a possible new phone from HTC, but the reason its drawing a lot of interest is for its supposedly super components.

Arguably the biggest reason why people know about the HTC One A9 is because of its rumored MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor which would be paired up with 4 GB of RAM. So far, that kind of high-end processor has been seen only in Acer Predator 6 gaming phone, according to Digital Trends.

The ten cores will reported be split into two sets of quad-core processors, with one other dual-core unit found inside the phone.

Interestingly enough, it appears as though the deca-core processor may not even be optimized for the HTC One A9 as four of the cores it possesses are expected to be used for the most demanding tasks; the other four for normal processes; and the last two will be utilized for the low intensity duties of the phone. That means that it would be unlikely that all 10 of the phone's cores will actually be running all at the same time, according to Tech Radar.

Aside from the rumored processor, there's not that much else known about the HTC One A9.

It's been rumored that the HTC One A9 will come preloaded with the Android Marshmallow operating system upon being released and that it will also feature the Sense 7 user interface.

Other details such as the phone's display size and internal storage offerings have been harder to come by.

It's also worth noting at this point that HTC has not made anything official with regards to the One A9 phone, meaning a lot of its supposed specs and features are still subject to change.

HTC will be holding an event on Tuesday, Sept. 29, and it's very possible that the company could feature the One A9 then.
