HTC might have released several smartphones for this year, but the company still seems to be having a hard time reporting a profit growth in the Chinese markets, primarily due to rising Chinese smartphone companies like Xiaomi and Huawei. After releasing Butterfly J, which has only been targeted to Japan, the Taiwanese smartphone company plans on releasing a mid-ranger for the Chinese market, called A50C. A50C will not be loaded with impressive hardware specifications like One M9 or Butterfly J, but future consumers will still be able to get sufficient performance from the device.

This is because according to @upleaks, HTC A50C is incorporated with a MediaTek MT6753T SoC, which runs an octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU at a frequency of 1.5 GHz. Additionally, the smartphone is also running 2 GB of RAM and features 16 GB of internal storage. The source has not specified if A50C will feature a MicroSD card slot, but 16 GB is far too low a storage count for HTC to omit an expandable storage slot. The device has a screen size of 5.5 inches that resonates a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels.

Furthermore, the smartphone also features dual-camera sensors belonging to Samsung. A50C features a 13/5 MP camera sensor combination and as surprising as it may seem, both of them belong to Samsung. The handset also provides support for holstering two SIMs, along with a 4G LTE modem and an 802.11 n adapter.

As stated before, A50C will remain limited to China. However, if HTC starts to witness proliferation of sales from its mid-ranged offering, then the company will be compelled to ship the smartphone to other regions. Unfortunately, as difficult as it may seem for HTC to fathom, it is very unlikely that the company will be granted the opportunity to ship out its handsets to other regions, mainly due to overwhelming competition.
