'House of Cards' season 3 release date mid-2015? Rachel Brosnahan on 'Doug Stamper'

House of Cards season 2

The third season of hit political series "House of Cards" will pack some action and part of it is that Rachel Posner did indeed kill Doug Stamper.

Series creator Beau Willimon and the "House of Cards" cast recently held a Twitter Q&A to ease the pain of the avid fans waiting for the third season of the TV show. In the Twitter Q&A, Doug Stamper's fate was revealed.

Actress Rachel Brosnahan spilled the beans saying that Doug Stamper is dead, which is not much of a shocker since his character was seemingly killed in "House of Cards" season 2.

Twitter user @mister_moss asked Brosnahan what her first thought was when she read in the script that her character would kill Doug Stamper. She responded, "Devastated! But she had to do something. But... poor Stampy." Yes, Rachel Posner did kill Doug Stamper. It was also confirmed that her treacherous character will return next season. Moreover, writers will continue to make her character "deeper and more complex" with "hopefully more to come" next season.

Beau Willimon made sure not to slip too much detail about what will happen next season but he gladly updated the fans that the writers are "a little over halfway through" with the season 3 script. Moreover, filming will start in the next few weeks.

It was also known that season 3 will include 13 episodes and Willimon promised that the new season will be "roughly thirteen hours of awesomeness."

The "House of Cards" is rumored to be back on Netflix around mid-2015 although the creator did not reveal a concrete release date yet.
