"House of Cards" season 4 will pick up right where season 3 left off, with Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) now at odds with his wife Claire (Robin Wright) right before the Presidential elections begin. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Frank's campaign will see even more violence and bloodshed than before.

"Fans should be excited for more of the brilliant villainy of Frank and more of the bloodshed that flows in his wake," explained Nathan Darrow, who plays the role of Secret Service agent Edward Meechum, during the Red Carpet celebration of "House of Card" season 4's premiere.

Not only does this confirm that some characters may die in season 4 but it also builds upon the themes and imagery revealed in the trailers and posters. The very first promo trailer gave audiences a rapid flashback of the violent crimes that Frank conducted in the past while the latest trailers hint at what he and his allies might do to win the election.

The latest trailer, in particular, focused more on Frank's war with Claire. Claire has proven to be the character's most powerful enemy given that she knows all of his secrets and crimes and she may use this knowledge to her advantage in season 4.

Elizabeth Marvel also attended the Red Carpet premiere. Marvel will be portraying Frank's political rival Heather Dunbar and the actress stated that the characters will continue to "unfold" in both the lightness and the dark, indicating that there are still secrets and agendas to unravel in the fourth season.

Frank Underwood is known for being quite violent as he has committed murders and commanded his allies to commit acts of murder, treason and more in order to place him in the position he is now. With the promise of even more bloodshed coming, it is likely season 4 will be the most violent in the show's history.

"House of Cards" season 4 premieres this March 4.
