The sixth season of the Showtime series "Homeland" has been confirmed. And one of the major questions that haunts fans is this: Is this the last we'll see of Peter Quinn? Season 5, as we recall, saw Carrie Mathison doubt Peter Quinn's loyalty to her. As Chatt Sports Net recounts, Carrie's doubts carried her far enough to believe that Quinn actually wanted her dead.

Of course, as the last season revealed, the truth was quite the opposite; Quinn was the one protecting her. The Russian spy Allison was the one who wanted to get at Carrie. And then, there was the shocking finale to Season 5 when Quinn encountered the jihadists. Captured by them, he was tortured until he was nearly dying.

Carrie, realising how much he had loved her, had been by his side in the hospital. However, the last scene, where she decided to disconnect his life support machine, hinted that maybe that was the end of Peter Quinn.

Ecumenical News, though, has some good news for fans. The column reports that there have been hints that suggest Quinn doesn't die, after all.

In another twist to the tale, Carrie's boss Otto During had been by her side through all the troubles she had to face during the previous episodes. Later, he even asked her to marry him. Rumors now allege that Carrie may be getting married in the upcoming season. But will she end up marrying During? And if she does, is it because she loves him, or because she believes Quinn to be dead? And if Quinn lives, will she go ahead and marry During? Phew! There are so many questions, and no answers as of now.

As for the other spoilers, the plot for the new season is believed to revolve around the U.S. presidential election. Elizabeth Marvel is supposedly playing the role of Elizabeth Keane, the new President of the United States.
