It's taken a long time but it seems justice may finally be around the corner for Hollyoak's long-suffering John Paul McQueen after his rape ordeal in January.

John Paul (James Sutton) finally opened up to boyfriend Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) this week about his rape at the hands of Finn O'Connor (Keith Rice).

But the ordeal is not over yet for John Paul as he didn't go as far as telling Ste that it was Finn who raped him, and he has yet to report the crime.

The new Hollyoaks Six Weeks of Summer trailer hints at what is in store for Finn, with the clip suggesting Ste takes matters into his own hands. It shows Finn looking terrified as he lies on the ground while Ste appears to glower over him.

Hollyoaks executive Bryan Kirkwood told Inside Soap in a recent interview that they have let the plot "play out in a truthful way" after closely following advice from male rape survivors.

"[We] wanted to send the message that, although it can take time for victims of male rape to come forward, this won't prevent them from being listened to, or mean that their attacker will not face the full force of the law. Rest assured that for John Paul, justice will prevail," he said.

It would be great if justice prevails before Finn gets his claws into someone else as the rumour is he has his eyes on Nancy and will attempt to attack her in a dark alleyway. Although thankfully, he will reportedly be unsuccessful as the attack is disturbed.

And fans of the show are also hoping justice will be done for Maxine (Nikki Sanderson), who is set to walk down the aisle to her abusive fiancé Patrick.

In his latest attempt to control her, he forces Maxine to eat her entire wedding cake until she is sick. He then plays Mr nice guy later on by giving her an expensive necklace as a gift.

Dennis (Joe Tracini) and Blessing (Modupe Adeyeye) are on the case and trying to help her escape Patrick's clutches but with the trailer showing clips of Maxine walking down the aisle, we'll have to wait and see whether their attempts are successful.
