Hillsong Live's Glorious Ruins reaches No 2 on iTunes overall album chart

Hillsong Live's 22nd album release has fast become another hit for the worship team after rocketing to No 1 on the iTunes Christian & Gospel chart and debuting at No 2 on the overall iTunes album chart.

The release of the album coincides with the Hillsong Conference in Sydney, Australia.

The Hillsong Conference is always the backdrop for introducing the annual Hillsong Live recording but this year's release has an added international dynamic, having been written and recorded across Hillsong's Sydney and London campuses.

Glorious Ruins has 12 brand new Hillsong tracks written by worship leaders Joel Houston, Reuben Morgan, Ben Fielding and Matt Crocker among others. The Deluxe Edition offers fans two additional tracks.

Senior Hillsong Pastor Brian Houston said the core of the album was the idea that "through Jesus Christ what we look at as ruins become glorious".

The album features the title track, "Man of Sorrows," which is already being sung in churches internationally, and "We Glorify Your Name," a collaboration between Reuben Morgan and Chris Tomlin.
