"Halo Wars 2" is getting PC and Xbox One versions, and developer Creative Assembly intends to take full advantage of what these entirely different platforms can offer.

Franchise creative director Frank O'Connor revealed, via WFFCTech, that the "Halo Wars" sequel "was designed with the Xbox and PC in mind from scratch and makes the most of each platform's relative strengths."

"'Halo Wars' as a franchise has had some innovative and appropriate ways to make the game genre work on console. I think both audiences will be pleased and not feel compromised," he continued.

This came up as he explained to gamers why Microsoft and 343 Industries are not planning to post "Halo 5: Guardians" over to PC, saying that "audiences deserve better than that."

O'Connor added that "Halo Wars 2" and not "Halo 5" will be the definitive proof to gamers that 343 Industries "take PC gaming very seriously as an organization and a studio."

In a press release, it was confirmed that "Halo 5" is not going to PC, although its Forge tools are. Responding to the backlash of leaving "Halo 5" out of the PC realm, O'Connor said that there's no logic in bringing the title that's been around for a year, to the platform.

More than that, "Halo Wars 2" is the game that the company wants players of the platform and Xbox One would want to look at. "We are focused on building Halo Wars 2 for Windows 10 and Xbox One," 343 Industries said in a statement.

"Halo Wars 2" will be showcased at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016. Gameplay changes and comparisons will allegedly be shown there as well as the progress in the game.

"Halo Wars 2" is a follow-up to the six-year-old real-time strategy (RTS) video game developed by Ensemble Studios. The genre of the game, as O'Connor emphasized, is the area of expertise of Creative Assembly, giving assurance that it s in good hands.

"Halo Wars 2" was first announced August last year and was teased to boast "fast-paced action, massive battles, and an all-new Halo story." Fans should get their first look at the much-awaited game on E3.
