'Halo 5: Guardians' DLC update news 2016: Developers announce more content coming soon

It was previously believed that work on "Halo 5: Guardians" had been completed and that developer 343 Industries would now move on to work on "Halo 6" and finish development on "Halo Wars 2." However, it is now confirmed that the game is still going to receive some downloadable content in the near future.

The developers made the announcement on the official Halo Waypoint site, stating: "We're not done just yet. Various teams here at the studio are hard at work finishing up a few different flavors of goodness, and we'll be talking about all of that and more in the near future. I am particularly excited about that part."

It is noted by Cinema Blend that the last official DLC pack released for the game was "Anvil's Legacy," and this offered new REQs, additional maps, and game modes. It is speculated that the next DLC for the game will offer similar content albeit with a different theme.

The report also states that by keeping the free and paid content coming the game will maintain its strong fan base and will continue to do so to build hype for "Halo 6," which is still a few years away from release, unless the developers have already been working on it in the past year or two.

Unfortunately, the developers did not elaborate further on what kind of content they working on for "Halo 5: Guardians," but it is expected to be free since they have stopped working on paid DLC packs for some time now.

It is also possible that this new content will focus entirely on the multiplayer aspect of the game, something that has since reportedly alleviated the criticisms against the game for its lack of split-screen multiplayer and the lack of major villains in the solo campaign.

There has been no confirmation regarding the DLC's release date, title, and content as of this moment.
