'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' sequel movie plot rumors: A familiar face returns; Rocket's origin to be fleshed out?

Marvel Studios

Director James Gunn has revealed a morsel of information about "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" via Snapchat. It is literally so tiny that it's difficult to spot, but nothing is ever too small for eagle-eyed fans who are trying to snag anything that would give them a clue about the sequel.

Gunn showed a glimpse of the movie script but it really isn't much unless one zooms it in. In the script, Kraglin's name can be spotted and he has something to say. Kraglin is Yondu Udonta's trusty Ravager who considers Peter Quill a rival.

Although by the end of the first film, Yondu looked like he wasn't that annoyed at having been a victim to Star-Lord's sleight of hand, it looks like Kraglin is mad and is stepping up his game in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." to prove that Peter is no match for him.

Meanwhile, the follow-up to the blockbuster Marvel film will also have new Guardians around. There are reports that a new recruit is coming and he would be of help by utilizing his impeccable skills in theft. Star-Lord and the crew could use a new bandit to steal another precious nugget.

On the other hand, it looks like "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will also delve into the past of the gun-toting raccoon, Rocket. In the first film, he always spoke of the experiment that made him what he is now but movie fans never really found out what exactly happened. But that will change come the new "Guardians of the Galaxy" film as fans may finally get the chance to dive in to Rocket's origin.

Interestingly, Gunn previously said that Peter will finally know who his father is in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." This makes it seem that the movie will do a lot of digging into the motley crew's mysterious and tragic pasts.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be shown in theaters starting May 5, 2017.
