GTA 6 release date rumors: next iteration nowhere near ready

Rockstar Games

There hasn't been any official announcement regarding the new title in the GTA franchise. Still, despite the fact that Rockstar Games has remained silent on the subject of GTA 6, speculations about the gameplay and the locations for the new chapter continue to run wild.

Yibada reports that one of the strongest theories suggest three possible cities that could set the stage for GTA 6: London, San Diego, and Tokyo. Of the three sites, London seems to be the strongest contender. This theory is backed by the fact that most of the people involved in the development of the new plotline are British. Moreover, considering how Rockstar had previously supported titles that took place in foreign locations, it is entirely likely that a London-based gaming plot is in the making.

N4BB goes on to offer another theory, according to which San Diego is where the bets are to be placed. This is primarily because the city is believed to possess all the resources a gamer could ask for, both natural and fabricated.

News on the game's release doesn't seem so good. With a lack of any definitive date, all we can do is guess. Mobipicker extrapolates the pattern that the previous releases have followed, and narrows down to a 2019 launch. But according to other rumours, GTA 6 may have to wait for the latest consoles to be available. And since both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Two are scheduled for 2020, GTA fans may have to wait that long before they can lay their hands on the new installment of the game.

In other news, the upcoming chapters may incorporate the right-hand drive feature in cars, should the game be set in London. A probable teleportation option is also rumoured to be available in GTA 6, making the transit from one place to another easier.
