'GTA 6' release date news: next sequel to have a massive world map?

While Rockstar Games continues to update "GTA V," particularly its online multiplayer feature, fans are already expecting the developer to come out with details on "GTA 6." Speculations suggest that the upcoming sequel will the biggest in the franchise when it is released and may even feature a massive map of previous "Grand Theft Auto" locations.

According to rumors, Rockstar Games has already started working on the next sequel for its "Grand Theft Auto" franchise, and the set location this time around will be Tokyo, Japan. Reportedly, this setup for a "GTA Tokyo" is already conceptualized by the development team early in the franchise, during the "GTA Vice City" days. While it has remain unconfirmed, a location setting outside of the United States is highly possible, given that this was already done in the original, London-themed "Grand Theft Auto."

Meanwhile, if the location is based outside of the U.S., there are rumors that Rockstar Games will feature a "world map" theme for the next "Grand Theft Auto," and each of the other areas are previously-showcased locations in other "GTA" titles like Vice City and the current Los Santos. Reportedly, "GTA 6" will feature the grandest map possible, and instead of having grayed-out areas in the beginning of the game, the next "GTA" installment will unlock all locations right from the start, with players having to explore the entire map in a true open-world setting.

While fans are waiting for confirmed details on "GTA 6," Rockstar Games meanwhile keeps on updating the current "GTA V" installment, particularly the online feature for the game. Just recently, a new major update has gone live for "GTA Online." The new "Cunning Stunts" DLC added new missions, events, and in-game items to the online multiplayer mode for the game, with other features such as the Stunts Creator coming online soon.
