Even before developer Rockstar Games has confirmed that the fifth installment of the 'Grand Theft Auto' franchise will come to the Windows PC platform, the company has already teased hardcore fans about the next sequel.

'Grand Theft Auto 6' is already in the works, it seems, and rumors are rampant about what stage the upcoming game is at this moment. Since the 'Grand Theft Auto' series is all about missions in vast locations, one of the very first things that franchise fans are speculating on is the setting for the next game.

There are rumors that the next location for the upcoming sixth installment would be London. According to Master Herald, even if the series has a typical American-like feel and theme, especially with the characters, settings, and language present in pretty much all of the titles under the series, it doesn't mean that real-world locations would be restricted to the United States.

Rockstar Games seems to agree with this. In an interview last month with Develop, as reported by Metro UK, company president Leslie Benzies said, "It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami."

"The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in."

However, there are reports that the next game could be located in the continental United States, at least according to Youth Health Magazine. According to the report, the next location, if the developers stick to the real-world theory, would be either Oregon or Texas. Portland, Oregon could be a backdrop for a car theft-centered storyline, since the place is notorious for it; and Houston, Texas, if the next game would revolve around the Mexican cartel as the villains.
