The anticipated release of the latest game in the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise will be pushed back to 2020. One possible reason for the delay is that the developers are making the game Virtual Reality (VR) compatible.

Neurogadget reports that the release of "Grand Theft Auto 6" was initially expected to be in 2018, but some reports are saying that the newest installment to the open-world adventure video game will be released in 2020 instead.

One of the reasons for the pushed back launch date is because Rockstar Games will allegedly add VR and AR support to "Grand Theft Auto 6," which will make it impossible for them to release the game on the expected 2018 launch.

Fraghero reports that another reason why the launch will be delayed is because the recently released "Grand Theft Auto Online" is currently a great success and Rockstar is still aiming to squeeze more revenue out of it. The company will need funding since "Grand Theft Auto 6" reportedly needs more than $350 million to produce the title.

"Grand Theft Auto 6's" anticipated release in 2020 is around the same time that Sony will release the PlayStation 5 and Microsoft will release the Xbox Two. Because of this, it is speculated that "Grand Theft Auto 6" will be the first game to be made available for the two new game consoles.

While the release of the new "Grand Theft Auto" is still far on the horizon, there are a few expectations about what the new features of the game will be.

Since the game involves a lot of mafia and corrupt government, fans of the game will enjoy a throwback theme of the 1970s for the new "Grand Theft Auto 6," which was the decade that the mafia was really big on businesses and the government was known to  abuse its power.

Another expected feature of the upcoming game is a female protagonist, which is believed to add more excitement to the storyline of "Grand Theft Auto 6." Fans also wish to have a change of city locations. They are anticipating the new game's city to be either Miami or New York City.

"Grand Theft Auto 6" is anticipated to launch in 2020.
