The 48th Annual Grammy Awards was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, February 8, 2006.

Among the winners for the Gospel field was Yolanda Adams, who won the Best Gospel Song category for the track “Be Blessed,” taken from her recent album Day By Day (Atlantic). Meanwhile, Amy Grant won the Best Southern, Country, or Bluegrass Gospel Album award for her album, Rock of Ages, Hymns and Faith (Word Records).
