Nothing has been announced by GoPro so far with regards to the Hero 5, but they have teased their Karma drone for a while already, which is speculated to be unveiled by Sept. 19. Rumors suggest that the next-generation action camera will come along with the drone's launch.

There have been speculations which suggest that the alleged GoPro 5 will be able to record 8K resolution videos, but only with up to 30 frames per second, attributed to hardware limitations. However, it can still record 4K videos at 60 frames per second and a 1080p resolution with up to 240 frames per second for a slower output video, GameNGuide reported.

Previously, Techno Buffalo shared that the still-unannounced video camera will be able to withstand being submerged 10 feet under water, and it is said that it can even go deeper with the use of a special case. Additionally, it will reportedly arrive with a battery capacity bumped up from 1,160 mAh to 1,220 mAh, a USB-C port, a touch screen and no physical Power/Mode button at the front.

The GoPro Hero 5 is expected to have the same price tag as the current Hero 4, which is US$499.99. Fans have also noticed that the current-generation action cam is starting to have price drops, sales, and discounts, which could possibly mean that a newer model will roll out soon.

Meanwhile, the company has also released another teaser video of its new drone. The 45-second video highlights the agility and controllability of the upcoming device. The short clip was taken in a large library. The drone seemed to have started from a high vantage point, then went down to book shelf-height, went in between shelves, through a hole and then stopped in front of a woman reading a book.

A YouTube debate ensued after the video's release. Many stated that its fake, that a drone would be so loud, especially indoors, and some argued that hair and paper should've been blown away. Others suggest that it could be a small device which is precise and that it can easily be grabbed and effortlessly be attached to a handheld camera stabilizer.

The GoPro has set up a media event on Sept. 19 for the Karma drone. Fans are speculating that the Hero 5 will be unveiled during the event as well.
