When it comes to action cameras, one of the major players in the industry is GoPro. The company's lineup of Hero action cameras are always on top of the review sites, and many fans are eager to experience GoPro's next iteration of its flagship camera, the GoPro Hero 5.  

However, it seems that fans would have to wait a bit longer for the upcoming action shooter. 

According to tech observers, the GoPro Hero 5 was scheduled to be released this October or toward the end of the year. However, new reports indicate that GoPro might be pushing back the rollout of the Hero 5 to 2016. Website TechNewsToday indicate the Hero 5's launch to be sometime next year, as GoPro will reportedly be tweaking the device and is rumored to be adding new features as well. 

Most noted among the rumored features of the upcoming Hero 5 is that, due to advances in technology, it will be smaller and lighter than its predecessor, without sacrificing quality build. GoPro has already succeeded in launching an action cam that is much smaller than the current Hero 4, although the specs have also been dialed back. 

The Hero 5, although smaller and more lightweight, is rumored to be able to incorporate 8K-video recording options at full HD, which is good news for active cam users since this means that the Hero 5 will be able to shoot high-quality, high-resolution images.

Meanwhile, reports have also mentioned how the Hero 5 will be competitively priced against its predecessor. Rumors say that the upcoming action cam will retail for at least $450 — the current Hero4 Silver's suggested retail price is $399.99 and the Hero4 Black is being offered for $499.99. However, it seems that the rumors are false, as recent speculations suggest that due to advancing tech, and with GoPro tweaking the Hero 5 more, the price would most likely jump to at least $550.
