In this post, it says that the Sony Santa Monica studios is hiring a total of 50 developers to work on the next big game for the PlayStation 4, which could mean that the upcoming "God of War" game will be huge.

However, while this game will certainly make waves once it hits the shelves, a lot of speculations point that Kratos will not be in the game, to the dismay of fans. After all, the 3rd game sort of ambiguously concluded Kratos's journey, so it's pretty difficult to imagine him coming back for the next installation. So it could be possible that a new protagonist could take the spotlight.

If that's the case, most likely the "God of War 4" game will become either a spin-off or a prequel to the original game. After all, some rumors online say the game will include other divine pantheons, such as Norse Gods like Odin, Loki, Thor and others.
