God loves even the unlovable, says Joyce Meyer

Joyce Meyer urges people to accept God's love.

When God gives you the gift of His love, you should accept it.

This is what Christian author and speaker Joyce Meyer advised people who insist on refusing God's warm embrace because they feel like they do not deserve it.

"There is only one thing you can do with a free gift, and that is receive it and be grateful. I urge you to take a step of faith right now and say out loud, 'God loves me unconditionally, and I receive His love!'" she said in her devotional.

Surprisingly, Meyer says she herself took quite some time before accepting His love too, and that it's because of this she really understands the struggles and hesitations felt by most sinners. She explained that when people feel unlovable, it is extremely hard for them to understand why someone can love them perfectly.

But God can, she said, even if His people are not perfect and never will be.

"You may have to say it a hundred times a day, like I did for months, before it finally sinks in, but when it does it will be the happiest day of your life," she guaranteed.

Meyer said that there is no greater joy in the world than to know that you are loved by someone you can completely trust. It "is the best and most comforting feeling in the world," she gushed.

According to Meyer, when people finally accept God's love, He will also provide other people to love them too. "When He does provide, be sure to remain thankful for those people. Having people who genuinely love you is one of the most precious gifts in the world," she said.

Meyer has come a long way from her troubled past, when she struggled from sexual abuse at the hands of her father and got into a toxic marriage right after graduating from high school. Now, she has built an empire teaching God's word to others. She has written over 100 books that have been translated into over 100 languages.
