God cares about the little things - yes even small, insignificant you!

Do you ever feel insignificant? Misunderstood, ignored and even, at times, invisible?

I believe most of us go through periods of time like this, leaving us feeling a little down and sad.

Perhaps it's feeling lonely after moving to a new area without knowing anyone, or maybe you've been wrongly accused and friends have abandoned you. It could be as simple as wishing you could afford a new piece of clothing or receiving a 'thank you' for all you do. Whatever it is, no matter how small it may seem to you or others, I believe God cares about it because he cares about you.

Luke chapter 12, verse 7 says:

'And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God...'

What a beautiful scripture. God loves us so very much and knows us so well, even down to the number of hairs on our head! He knows our every thought, our fears, our hopes and dreams.

Keep your eyes on Jesus

If you ever feel like God doesn't care about you or what's happening in your life, I encourage you to read the scriptures.

John chapter 15, verse 15 says:

'No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my father I have made known to you.'

What an amazing thought that the creator of the universe, who set the stars in their place, put himself in a position that enabled him to draw nearer to us and provide us with a way to draw near to him.

Jesus wants and longs to be our friend.

Even if at times God doesn't feel very close to you, nothing can separate us from his love.

Romans chapter 8 verses 38-39:

'And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love...neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow... indeed nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.'

Story time revelations

I recently received a fresh revelation about how much God cares about and loves me after reading a picture book to my son.

'from my head, to my toes, from my knees to my nose, God knows all about me. When I'm good, when I'm bad, when I'm happy, when I'm sad, God knows all about me (Page & Fennel 2014).'

It is a simple, yet beautiful rhyming story which had me in tears as I felt God was directly speaking to me of his love and how he knows me from the inside out.

I would like to encourage you that if you ever feel insignificant or abandoned, know that your heavenly Father and best friend longs to be in relationship with you and to draw near to you. He loves you dearly.
