"Gears of War 4" is already expected to be a multi-platform release. However, it seems that PC players will get more out of the upcoming sequel, as PC-exclusive features get detailed by Microsoft.

In an interview with EuroGamer, technical director Mike Rayner confirmed that the PC version of "Gears of War 4" will have some advantages over its Xbox One counterpart. Rayner reveals that since the PC is a more flexible platform, the game will take advantage of its features. The director said, "Our focus on PC is to deliver a highly optimized, customizable experience first and foremost."

Since display and visual features are some of the distinct advantages for PC games, The Coalition has focused on these when coming out with PC-exclusive tweaks. Some of the improvements for "Gears of War 4" on PC are "proper" unlocked frame rate support, multi-core processing, and custom improvements for dedicated GPU performance unique to the Unreal Engine 4. Once these features are set on the version, players will enjoy fluid frame rates much higher than the standard 30 fps on the Xbox One.

Meanwhile, Rayner also revealed than since some of PC players already know the best settings for their games, "Gears of War 4" will come out with a benchmark mode, so they can manually tweak visual features and setting themselves. This will make playing "Gears of War 4" on PC much interesting, with the addition of textures and ultra-wide, dynamic field of view that may even be optimized for up to 4K gaming. However, the technical director also said that this will still depend on how powerful the player's PC is in terms of specs.

"Gears of War 4" will be released on Oct. 11 for both the PC and Xbox One. The game is included on the games list for the Xbox Play Anywhere program, where players only need to buy one digital copy but access the game as a multi-platform title.
