Release date details of the upcoming Xbox One game, "Gears of War 4" still remain under wraps. The game is said to arrive sometime this year and fans are already eager to know when they will finally get their hands on the new installment of one of the biggest game franchises.

While an exact date has not been announced, the game preview stated that "Gears of War 4" will arrive in this year's holiday season, which is still a long way to go considering the year has just begun.

While waiting for official announcements, fans can only rely on the bits of information revealed last year over at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) Conference. So far, what's known about the game is that there will be two new characters — male and female.

Based on the trailer revealed back in June 2015, both characters, JD and Kait, found themselves caught up in a never ending chase from new threats viewed as far different from the Locusts featured as the main antagonists in previous installments. The Locusts are even considered more notorious.

JD and Kait are on a hunt and will encounter several wolf-like mutants, described in IGN as tough but can easily be taken down with gunfire and bladed weapons. The next thing for the hunters is that they became the hunted.

Judging from the E3 reveal, "Games of War 4" is going to be epic. IGN stated in its report that not a lot of information about the kinds of enemies to come has been revealed.

One of the things to look forward to in the game is the threat that the protagonists will face and how destructive they can get. JD and Kait will also be equipped with cool and awesome weapons.

"Gears of War 4" has a beta version that comes with "Gears of War: Ultimate Edition" selling for $40. The beta game will be available by spring this year. There is no announcement regarding pre-orders of the game.
