Country star Garth Brooks had the "Good Morning America" audience, and host Robin Roberts, in tears during his performance on Friday.

Brooks debuted his single "Mom" from his upcoming album, and the touching lyrics are a conversation between an unborn child and God.

The emotional song will appear on "Man Against Machine," scheduled to be released on November 11. It will be Brooks' first studio album in 14 years.

Brooks promised that fans will hear "cowboy songs" instead of the country-pop, and "hick hop" sounds that have infiltrated country music. "If you had to put it in a box for me, [it'd be] 'Garth Music,'" Brooks said of the new album.

"Mom" is a demonstration of the classic "Garth Music" that fans still love after tens of millions of records sold and decades in the music business. The heartwarming ballad was performed acoustically on Friday, heightening the song's emotion.

"A little baby told God, 'Hey I'm kinda scared, don't really know if I wanna go down there/Because from here it looks like a little blue ball/But that's a great big place and I'm so small,'" Brooks sang.

"'Why can't I just stay here with you? Did I make you mad? Don't you want me, too?' And God said, 'Oh child, of course I do/But there's somebody special that's waiting for you.'"

Brooks, whose own mother passed away in 1999, appeared emotional at times during the moving performance.

Fans of the singer can look forward to seeing him on tour with his wife, Trisha Yearwood, through 2015. The couple will spend next week in Minneapolis before travelling to Greensboro, NC, St. Louis, Little Rock, and Tulsa. More dates are expected to be announced on Brooks' website.
