More than a year after "Frozen 2" was officially green-lit by Disney, the cast of the much-awaited "Frozen" sequel has not gone back to the recording studio yet.

"Bad Moms" star Kristen Bell, who brings to life in the movie fan-favorite character Anna, shared this precious "Frozen 2" update during her guest stint on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."

"We haven't started recording. We're just waiting to get out hands on the script," Bell told host Jimmy Kimmel of the development of "Frozen 2."

"They take a lot of time over there to just perfect it. It has to go through a lot of development to make sure it's exactly the story that needs to be told," the actress went on to say.

With the pressure of making "Frozen 2" on par or better than the first film that happens to be the highest grossing animated film in history, it is understandable that they are taking time in put together the story.

From the looks of it, the "Frozen" sequel will not be here anytime soon. Luckily, there's another way fans can quench their thirst for all things "Frozen" apart from just rewatching the film.

Fans can look forward to another Elsa and Anna adventure next year. It was announced earlier this year that a "Frozen" holiday special is in the works for a 2017 launch.

Bell, Idina Menzel (the voice of Elsa) and Josh Gad (the voice of Olaf) will all be back for this special. This will be perfect for fans who just can't get enough of the adorable siblings and their insanely lovable snowman pal.

Fans have been itching to see the group of friends back in the silver screen again and thanks to this "Frozen" holiday special, waiting for "Frozen 2" will be much easier.

"Frozen 2" has no release date yet, but is expected to be out by 2018.
