'Frozen 2' release date and plot: Prince Hans is Elsa's love interest, new female villain

Elsa from FrozenDisney

"Frozen" has undoubtedly brought huge success for Disney. It was an animated film that both kids and adults enjoyed. Disney was able to go big in the box office and the merchandise, which showed that a sequel was definitely going to happen.

"Frozen" director Jennifer Lee confirmed the sequel back in March and to date, rumors and speculations plague the web as to what the story will be for the second instalment of the movie.

For one, there will definitely be a new villain to shake things up in Arendelle. According to the rumors, this villain will be a female and proves to be a great foe for Elsa. The female villain is said to have fire powers.

Meanwhile, Elsa has a lot on her plate right now being a queen of the town and all. With the coming of the new villain, she will need the help of her sister Anna and friends Kristoff, Sven and Olaf. But, there might be someone else who will be joining the group.

Hans, the greedy villain in the first movie will be back in "Frozen 2" but his once selfish heart will change. Apparently, Hans will prove that he is a changed man to capture the heart of Queen Elsa. What better way to prove himself than to help the gang save Arendelle right?

As for the cast of the movie, Idina Menzel will be back to lend her voice once again to Elsa. Josh Gad, who was asked to announce the sequel of the movie, will also be back as the emotional snowman Olaf. On the other hand, Kristen Bell hasn't confirmed her return as Anna yet. But don't be dismayed, it is highly likely that Bell will return too. Lee and fellow director Chris Buck will also sit on the director's chairs once again and head the second movie.

As of the moment, there is still no release date for "Frozen 2." But based on Disney CEO Robert Iger's statement back in January, Disney isn't in a hurry to complete the movie because they're "demanding for excellence" and not speed.
