Description:
A weekend of worship, workshops and seminars to equip, resource and encourage you bringing together trainers from Scripture Union, Church Pastoral Aid Society (CPAS) and Hope UK. Workshops follow one of six strands:
- Foundation - for those who are new to working with children and young people or who are coming back to it after a break;
- Training the Trainer - for those who lead and train teams of volunteers;
- Advanced (in conjunction with CPAS) - those who are 'going for growth', nurturing and establishing children and young people in faith;
- Running your Small Group - for those who lead small groups of adults, young people and/or children in the study of God's Word;
- Supporting your local School - for those who wish to develop links with their local school as an effective way of enhancing regular work with children and young people;
- Family Ministry - for those who would like to help develop a congregational life that supports and nurtures all kinds of families.
There will be a bookshop and a resource and networking area on site, and seminars will include:
- Light - getting the best out of this important resource;
- The tweenage phenomenon;
- The drink and drug culture (facilitated by Hope UK)
- Taking schools seriously
- Using technology - from scissors to Powerpoint
- How to lead a team of volunteers
- Being creative with the Bible
