Former porn star 'Randy Spears' shares how he maintained his Christianity while immersed in the world of porn

Former porn star "Randy Spears," who simply goes by the name Greg, has always been a Christian. Even while he was completely immersed in the porn industry, he was a Christian through and through.

Greg shared his unique story with XXX Church, an online ministry dedicated to helping people who suffer from porn and sex addiction.

"At the height of my career I was a Christian. I was raised that way and remained a Christian throughout my career. I just had one foot in and one foot out. The dedication to my faith and my Creator took a back seat to the lifestyle I wanted to live," he shares on the group's website.

But even though he was able to eventually escape from the clutches of the porn industry, Greg says he does not hate porn people and does not look down on them in any way.

"Those people are my friends, and I love some of them dearly. How could I possibly judge anyone? That would make me the biggest of hypocrites and go against the very message in which I believe," he says. "I have never, and will never, 'thump' anyone with the book that I firmly believe was God-inspired, protected through the ages, true, and which I carry under my arm to church every Sunday."

What he wants to do now though, is to share God's message to the people he used to work with. And his message is simple: There is a Creator.

"This is way bigger than us. Incredibly, there is one who had no beginning, and has no end. He always was and is. An amazing entity Who loves us personally and wants a relationship with each of His created beings," shares Greg.

When he was making a living through porn, Greg asked God to change his life and take away the pain he inflicted upon himself and others. "Porn didn't damage my life alone. The bar or drug dealer didn't destroy my life alone. It was me and what I did with porn, alcohol, and drugs that caused me grief and damage," he acknowledges.

When he sought help from God, God replaced all his brokenness with "truth, love, compassion, and a greater understanding of what this life stuff means."

"We must have the desire to have him in our lives," says Greg. "It's about free will. The problem is, we don't want to be held accountable. If God's real — and I believe He is — then there is accountability to the Creator. That's just how it works. We are selfish and want to live the way we want. The good news is that we can live differently if we want to. By God's power, not our own. He went so far as to send Himself as a sacrifice. We owe a debt we cannot pay, so he paid a debt He did not owe."

Greg says the truth is its own defence, and there can only be one truth—Jesus. When Greg found Jesus, He found freedom, and he hopes others like him would find Salvation in Jesus as well.

"The bottom line is this: God is real. He will reach down and show us mysteries and great blessings," he says.
