Aside from the upcoming role-playing game edition of the popular indie point-and-click game "Five Nights at Freddy's," fans of the franchise are also looking forward to the release of its film adaptation.

Warner Bros. Pictures first mentioned in April the plans to bring the popular game to the big screen. It will be developed under Roy Lee's Vertigo Entertainment and David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith's KatzSmith Productions.

But since it was announced in July that Gil Kenan will direct the film using the script by Tyler Burton Smith, the film studio has been silent about the production of the upcoming "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie. Good thing Kenan has been generous enough to share several tidbits about the film via Twitter.

According to the 38-year-old filmmaker, the movie's plot can be considered a canon in the original universe of the game developed by Scott Cawthon. In July, responding to a fan who told the filmmaker not to "screw up" the film, he tweeted that he is "a big fan of 'FNAF'" himself. "The depth of the game storyline is amazing... Scott is one hell of a world builder!" he continued.

Kenan also recently shared images of animatronic props, which could be used in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie.

There are no details confirmed about the characters of the film yet, but the movie is expected to feature Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and Fredbear/Golden Freddy.

Chica's appearance in the film could be confirmed by the pair of yellow eyes in the background of one of the animatronic props that Kenan posted on Twitter.
