'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie spoilers: Film will be different from what fans expect

Fifty Shades of Grey

The film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" may disappoint waiting fans as there are hints that the movie will not be as steamy as many wished.

There are different clues emerging that the upcoming movie version of best-selling trilogy "Fifty Shades of Grey" may tone down the hot scenes from the book. The latest clue came from the actress Eloise Mumford, who plays the role of Anastasia Steele's roommate in the film.

She said that, although the novel is somehow erotic, the film will be more than just sex. She said that the movie will be about love and romance after all. She also stated that Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan were "the perfect pair to play Ana and Christian."

This coincides with the earlier reports that the film will feature more of the romance between the two protagonists than their sexual relationship.

Previous indication that the film may be weak is the 5-minute clip shown at the CinemaCon last March. The Los Angeles Times commented that the "Fifty Shades of Grey" will be tamer than E.L. James' novel.

One of possible reasons why the producers and scriptwriters decided to make the scenes subtler is in order to get a lower rating. If the movie will follow the book, it might get an R rating that will hinder younger audience to see the film. It is possible that the movie is vying for a PG-13 rating to encourage the same audience that Twilight, Hunger Games and Harry Potter attracted.

However, this is a mere speculation as the trailer of the movie is still under wraps. "Fifty Shades of Grey" is set to hit the theatres on Feb. 13, 2015. The trailer of the film has not been revealed yet. Latest reports claimed that the trailer will be released not later than September.
