Fans praying for Joni Mitchell after singer found unconscious in her home
Fans are praying for Joni Mitchell after it was announced that the singer is in intensive care, having been found unconscious in her home on Tuesday.
A statement on Mitchell's website yesterday said the star was rushed to hospital, but regained consciousness on the journey. She now is undergoing tests and "is awake and in good spirits" the statement said. It encourages fans to "Light a candle and sing a song, let's all send good wishes her way."
Many have expressed their support on social media and said they are praying for her recovery, including Boy George.
A prayer for Joni Mitchell.

I only pray when I feel like good vibes aren't enough. I love Joni Mitchell enough to swallow my atheist pride and talk to god.

Canadian-born, Mitchell has been labelled "one of the greatest songwriters ever" by Rolling Stone magazine. Her 1985 album 'Dog Eat Dog' included criticism of televanglists, and the drift to the religious right in American politics.
She later wrote: "The churches came after me, they attacked me, though the Episcopalian Church, which I've seen described as the only Christian Church in America that actually uses its head, wrote me a letter of congratulation.
"I could see the separation of church and state was disappearing, and that worried me. I think it was prophetic in terms of what's happened since, but the press was dismissive at the time."
She told Billboard magazine in December that she can no longer perform due to having Morgellons disease. It is widely considered to be a psychological disorder, where suffers believe they can feel parasites crawling underneath their skin.
